Stallingborough chemicals giant Cristal Pigment UK has won a prestigious regional award for nature conservation for a project which will encourage wildlife to leap forward in northern Lincolnshire.
The Humber estuary with its ports and factories is of vital importance for the UK's economy. It is also of outstanding value for birds, seals and other wildlife. Gaining economic growth but at the same time protecting and enhancing the environment is a challenge and is the main task of the Humber INCA.
Naturalist Dr David Bellamy has presented representatives from Scunthorpe's Corus steelworks with an environmental award for creating an artificial nesting ground for rare birds.
